About the Project
In 2013, the storm damaged culvert was replaced with a much larger concrete box culvert which eliminated the former barrier and made the crossing much more resilient.
The project involved the replacement of a 2 x 3 foot stone and slab culvert which conveyed the Parker River under West Street in Georgetown, Massachusetts. The crossing was replaced with a 10 x 6 foot concrete box culvert and the roadway was raised to reduce flooding and failure risk while improving aquatic organism passage conditions.
