Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control and Wetlands Management District used their low-ground pressure equipment to remove rock debris associated with an abandoned cart path to alleviate channel impoundment and restore tidal hydrology with dual benefits to mosquito control and wetland restoration.

About the Project
The project involved removal of gravel obstructions from four locations within the tidal creek system of the Castle Neck River. The project was intended to reduce impoundment, improve tidal flushing and drainage, and reduce documented mosquito breeding within the impounded marsh.
