The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (DFW) seeks applicants for the position of Fisheries Field Operations Biologist (Aquatic Biologist I).
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Fisheries, the Fisheries Field Operations Biologist (Aquatic Biologist I) is responsible for the oversight and coordination of statewide fisheries field sampling operations for the agency which is integral to the development of fisheries conservation and management plans. The Aquatic Biologist I works with fisheries research biologists to identify sampling needs, plan the annual sampling schedule, and coordinating sampling efforts with Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program (NHESP) section’s aquatic biologist and Division district personnel to maximize sampling efficiency. The Aquatic Biologist I develops and maintains the statewide fisheries database used in the formulation of fisheries conversation and management plans.
