Calling All Municipal Staff
Are you a municipal department head or staffer seeking additional funding to build out the projects identified in your MVP Planning? Or were you involved in your town’s MVP Plan and want your community to have access to more funding to implement projects?
Our friends at watershed collaboratives and regional planning agencies across the state are here to help. We are looking for community spokespeople to film a short selfie-style video. Each video showcases a spot in town included in your MVP Planning where you would like to do a project if funding were available. This campaign is part of a push to increase the amount of funding available to municipalities, as well as make it easier for cities and towns to apply to and access funds.
Several PIE-Rivers Partners, including the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission and Ipswich River Watershed Association, have joined the statewide coalition. Across the PIE-Rivers Region, we will be filming 5-10 short videos between now and September.
If you are interested or know someone you think would be great to film speaking in front of a project site, please contact a PIE-Rivers partner. If your community is in the Merrimack Valley region, email Jen Hughes at jhughes@mvpc.org. If your community falls within either the MAPC North Shore Task Force or North Suburban Subregion, please contact plynch@ipswichriver.org.
Are you a resident unsure which subregion your community falls in, or would like to help film your local leaders in your community? We’re also looking for filmmakers! Please contact plynch@ipswichriver.org for more information.
