PIE-Rivers Partners Release New Film and Storymap!
A new movie has come to the North Shore! Several PIE-Rivers Partners, including the Town of Ipswich, the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM), and Ipswich River Watershed Association came together to create a short film. Several other groups provided support, including engineering firm Horsley Witten Group, Mossy Frog Studios, alumni of the Climate Cafes, and Ipswich Cable Access Media (ICAM-Ipswich).
The film, Story of Ipswich, builds off lessons learned from a specific restoration project to tell a larger story about how coastal communities on the North Shore are becoming more resilient in the face of climate change. It can be viewed for free on Ipswich River’s YouTube channel.
For Newburyport resident Jaedin Guldenstern, one of the film’s producers and an alumni of the Climate Cafe, the film “reveals how science, government, and intergenerational wisdom work best when deeply listening to each other. I am grateful to take part in the abundant effort and energy poured into this project- the world needs more of it.”
The film features interviews with Ipswich residents, town staff, and business owners. It centers around the Ipswich River Bank Resiliency Project, a collaborative effort between several PIE-Rivers Partners. Ipswich residents can visit Town Hall or Riverbend Headquarters for a colorful brochure explaining the project, and a new multimedia Story Map has also been released online with more information about the project.
