This action provides information necessary to implement Action 39 (Regional Land Protection and Conservation Plan)
Description
Identify lands of high conservation value with respect to their influence on the PIE-r-squared environmental goals (enough water, clean water and health ecosystems) in the region. Areas of focus should include:
- Existing floodplains and groundwater recharge areas that can attenuate extreme flows,
- Land that affects the quantity and quality of current and future drinking water sources,
- Headwaters and small streams,
- Critical habitats such as wetlands, shorelands, and migration corridors.
