Parker River to Host Summer Steering Committee
After a year of virtual Steering Committee meetings for the PIE-Rivers Partnership, we are excited to announce our Summer 2021 meeting will be held in person. The Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, one of 22 PIE-Rivers Partners, has graciously agreed to host the next meeting of the Steering Committee.
Steering Committee members help advance the mission of PIE-Rivers by reviewing implementation plans, connecting with new partners as they pop up on the North Shore, and discussing ways we can continue increasing the pace and scale of restoration and resiliency work in our region. While members typically come from State or Federal agencies, local nonprofits, funding organizations, universities or municipal departments, anyone working on restoration work in our region can apply to join. The Steering Committee meets four times per year and typically rotates meetings between partner locations in the Parker, Ipswich and Essex River Watersheds.
Are you a restoration or resiliency professional interested in joining the Steering Committee? There’s still time to express interest and meet next month on the Parker River. You can contact Neil Shea at nshea@pie-rivers.org to express interest. Please include a brief description of your work as it relates to restoration and resiliency planning. Youth leaders are encouraged to apply, as well as people working on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the environmental space.
